Artist Statement:
Plants have super-powers.
Behind this simple statement is a world of possibility to shift our perspective and transform plants from passive subjects to active agents of change, relentless persistent actors in the visible and invisible forces that shape our world.
I am interested in this power that plants have or "wield". I allude to this in my titles implying human or even saintly qualities, elevating their status to be commensurate with the value they bring to society as quiet bearers of our food, medicine, and shelter to name but a few.
